On May 17, Read The Room — a concept bookstore where literature meets lifestyle — opens its doors for the very first time.

Read The Room is more than a bookstore. It’s a curated space for slow reading, thoughtful gifting, and everyday beauty. Books, art, and small objects that feel like stories in themselves.

With every purchase you will receive a personal bookmark.

If you wish, you can enter to a giveaway for a 50€ gift voucher (we’re giving away 4!) that you can use for yourself or gift someone else on another day. You can enter in-store on the 17th (additional entry per purchase) and online until the 18th, and the winner will be contacted on the 20th.

& First Pop-up

To celebrate, we’re also kicking things off with our first Book Pop-Up that you may know as Blind Date With A Book: Wrapped titles. Handwritten clues. No spoilers. Just a feeling.

The selection of books is curated by us - each one wrapped in a uniform creamy paper, adorned with a custom library card that showcases handwritten clues, so that you can choose a book by its story, rather than by its cover.

The books this time are selected with one feeling in mind: the joy of a slow afternoon.

These are the kinds of reads you toss in a tote bag, unfold with a blanket, and savor between sips of lemonade. Whether it’s a charming novel, a thoughtful short story, or a bit of poetry that lingers like sunshine, each book invites you to pause, breathe, and simply enjoy. Perfect for lazy park days, café corners, or anywhere a little warmth and wonder are welcome.

The pop-up takes place at the same time as the Opening,  where our shelves showcase these wrapped books, up for grabs. Book lovers are able to browse these books just in time for their next outing on a slow afternoon, where they are able to pick out a  thoughtful gift for themselves or their loved ones - a partner, friend, parent, or teen.
